Universal Design or sometimes as it might be thought about Accessible Design is an important piece in today's urban landscape. How we use and interact with the world around us regardless of any sort of limitation, be it physical or otherwise, needs to accommodate everyone. I recall being told several years ago that 'good design' was never really noticed because it is always something that just works. One of my favorite Steve Jobs quotes is "Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."
1. EQUITABLE USE
2. FLEXIBILITY IN USE
3. SIMPLE AND INTUITIVE USE
4. PERCEPTIBLE INFORMATION
5. TOLERANCE FOR ERROR
6. LOW PHYSICAL EFFORT
7. SIZE AND SPACE FOR APPROACH AND USE
In preparation for possibly attending this year's 2016 New England Home Show at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, we have gone ahead and updated our website in 3 days. Some late nights and extra cups of coffee ... so much so our Keurig machine seems to have brewed its final cup ... we have refreshed the look and feel of our entire website. Now with a cleaner interface and more responsive formatting, our Services, architectural Portfolio and now News can be viewed easily across all devices. Let us know what you think! SOCIAL MEDIA ENHANCEMENTWe recently decided to add a news section to the website to showcase some of the updates we had been posting to our Facebook Page. In the process we tried to streamline our social media game and utilize only one Twitter account. Special attention was given to building up our Google rankings to hopefully appear on your searches for possible assistance on home related renovations, additions, remodels and new construction projects across New England. You can now find more enhanced and coordinated Google+ pages for Business and Architect.
For more updates check back or follow us on social media. We have several other developments in store for the website including potentially an 'eDesign Service' we've tried and tested on Etsy.
We have used Houzz.com for some time now. Even before our company profile was created, architect and owner Neil Silva, used the website as a means for browsing inspiration. It is a platform for home remodeling and design, bringing homeowners and home professionals together in a uniquely visual community. A great way to help organize and explore different ideas for any home renovation, addition or new construction project you might be considering. They have expanded the website from its original conception to help merge the design professionals with the homeowners to potentially connect local clients with contractors, designers, architects and other design professionals.
WE'RE ON HOUZZ.COM TOO!
Be Sure to Check our Page out! http://www.houzz.com/pro/8tfive/ Although we'll also post projects here on our Portfolio, we'll continue to share our images on a website that promotes the connection and inspiration between client and designer. If you're already a Houzz member or plan to register for the free access to thousands of inspirational images for home projects, don't forget to Follow Us.
You'll receive updates per your notification settings of any new projects be post. |
