Over 20 Years of Experience

About Us

Established in 2013, 8TFive Studio is a small architecture and interior design firm focused primarily on residential design from small additions to new home construction as well as small-scale commercial work such as restaurants, dormitories, offices and retail space across New England.

Founded by architect, Neil Silva, who has over 10 years experience on a range of both large (90,000 sf) and small (800 sf) residential, healthcare and corporate commercial market sectors.

Our mission is to redefine conventional architectural design services and embrace an unhindered exploration of innovative, collaborative and imaginative design strategies and solutions.

We provide our clients with the excitement and satisfaction of sustainable and responsible design.

Our company brings a thoughtful approach to sustainability with LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification since 2009 and an expertise in BIM (Building Information Modeling) analysis since 2005 that provides our clients with a better visual understanding for the project, its performance and costs.

We love what we do and constantly strive to advance our skills, knowledge and design thinking against any project challenges to discover new opportunities for our clients.

Who We Are

We are a small practice dedicated to the experience of the design process. We strive to explore design solutions with you rather than for you and we discuss the balance between wishful home ideas and affordable realities for your project.

What We Do

We focus our work on personalized residential and small scale commercial projects. We listen to your design requirements and offer multiple explorations to provide you with the best collaborative experience possible.

Community Betterment

8TFive Studio is committed to its on-going efforts for community betterment and more formally participates with 1+, a program of Public Architecture, which challenges architecture and design firms across the globe to make a pledge of one percent or more of annual billable hours to pro bono service.
1+ Logo
Pro bono design serves a critical need for nonprofits with unmet environmental and facility needs. Design is a wholly underutilized tool for achieving social outcomes. 1+ defines pro bono as professional services rendered in the public interest without expectation of a fee or with a significant reduction in fees.

Military Discounts

The company also extends a warm welcome with our utmost gratitude to those who in the United States military who have volunteered to service and protect the security and freedoms of our country.

Sustainable Practices

We are dedicated not just to the practice of sustainable design but also in the daily business operations of our company. 8TFive Studio has long partnered with the office supply retailer, Staples to provide a quick and easy solution for all our employees to bring any office and/or household electronics to recycle.
Staples Recycling Program
To help keep e-waste from landfills and utilize equipment from a more responsible perspective, employees at 8TFive Studio can bring unwanted devices like smartphones, tablets and laptops as well as rechargeable batteries, ink cartridges and other electronics.

Our Approach

Our process is simple. First we can discuss the project over the phone or through email to set expectations. We'll schedule a free consultation to talk in person about any details pertaining to the project that might still be unknown or to generate some additional Project Ideas.

The goal is to identify as much of what will be required from you as well as from me to draft into an agreement proposal for review. This helps define the scope of services required, consultants needed for the project as well as compensation and expenses to be drafted up using an industry standardized contract.
