If you’re a crafty person, you know how many tools and accessories come along with the hobby. Finding a spot in your home is not only key to taming the clutter, but also giving you an area to let your creativity flourish.

No matter the size of your abode – there are fantastic craft area options for you.

Devote an entire room to your crafting hobby.

Dedicated Craft Rooms

If you’re lucky enough to have a room to dedicate as a craft room- congratulations! Make sure to include plenty of both built-in and mobile storage options. Crafting comes with lots of little parts and pieces and it will be handy to be able to pull up bins and baskets to your workspace.

Provide chair height counter space for projects where you need to sit for longer periods of time. A standing height table gives you the option for quick projects or times when you want to get out of your chair and on your feet!

An available closet may be your ideal option.

Your Hobby Closet Organization

If you don’t have the ability to devote an entire room to your hobby – find a closet! With a few accessories and portable carts, you can transform a closet to the perfect staging zone.

Add pretty curtains for a final touch of flair. If curtains aren’t your thing, keep the original doors on there which can add even more storage options for you – there are plenty of organizational options that you can hang right on the inside of the door! This is a great option if you have a home office or den that can’t be dedicated to crafts, but already has usable desk or table space for you to work on.

We can help you come up with quick ideas for your craft room through our new eDesign services. You have plenty of options to organize your hobby space with both functionality and personality.

Craft Supply Storage Ideas

Not an empty closet to be found?  I know you have an empty wall! Turn those craft supplies into a focal point all their own. Cube shelves are readily available at many big box stores and are a relatively inexpensive option that can give a large amount of storage.

Locate it near your kitchen island or dining room table and you have a great way to still complete all your crafty tasks. One con to this format – needing to clean up projects before they’re complete since you’re not in a dedicated space. Consider investing in a board or mat that you can slide under your work that can put away without disturbing your progress.

No matter what kind of space you are in, there are infinite options on how to display your crafting supplies. Pretty jars turn markers and pencils into works of art that are easy for you to reference when needed.

Peg board is a universal organizer. Frame it out with trim from your local hardware store for a more finished look. There are many accessories available that are made specifically for peg boards but be creative! IKEA and other big box stores have many options that are designed for storage in other areas of the home that would work perfectly in a craft environment.

Create a cohesive look by investing in photo boxes of the same color to display on open shelving.
