Interview Filming with LMV Productions

1/21/2015

Comments

We recently sat down with Matt Forcier, owner of LMV Productions located in Newburyport, MA.

He came highly recommended by our marketing consultant Taylor Kloss over at Creative TK who has also had Matt film a similar interview. Although he does do business and other filming requests a good portion of his work seems to be the wedding market.

I wish I had more images of the actual shoot to share here but I was more focused on the 'sitting there talking' part than the highlighting the event part.

A piece to the puzzle of sharing updates on the company that Taylor has mentioned we need to focus on for anything we attend ... we're still trying to keep it in practice.

I can tell you he was great to work with. From crafting what I had in mind for the video to the editing process, Matt worked with every step of the way. Not only was his work such a great end product but he helped make everything seem pretty straight forward.
A brief introduction to the firm and architect Neil Silva. This interview also gives you a glimpse for how we operate and one project completed that features the use of Building Information Modeling.

FUTURE FILMED PROJECT TOURS

We'll be continuing to work with Matt in the future on other possible projects such as potentially touring some of our recently constructed homes to give you an inside look not just at the space but also the design thinking that went on behind it.

One of the most important and perhaps undervalued assets to any home remodel project or new construction job is evaluating opportunities and exploring potential layouts.

I've heard first hand experience from a local contractor that a homeowner of his had developed a plan on their own. After the permit was issued and construction began they slowly started changing their minds about this and that.

Small stuff really, move this electrical switch over here, could we knock down the wall and move it a few feet to make more room, etc.
Well despite multiple warnings the client eventually raked up over $30,000 in additional change orders that could have very easily been discussed and advised in detail with an architect.

One major advantage is the ability to think of the small things while plans are being developed and discussions can be had with clients on the difference between a few feet or even ease of use for a space with lighting, appliance location and even furniture layouts.

All of which perhaps seem trivial alone but together can have a big impact on a project.

Better yet, after construction when you have to live with always having to wish that damn switch was in a different location but now you don't want to tear into the wall to do it ... it could have potentially been caught with the assistance of a licensed design professional.

Certainly not to say a contractor will not advise you in a similar fashion, but usually the point in which this occurs is not on paper before anything is constructed.

Other Questions to Ask an Architect

Due to many questions going unasked or areas in which we find our clients inquire about during initial meetings about their project ... we've collected a list of Questions to Ask your architect or any design professional you might consider for a project.
